Obviously, it’s a huge support when you intentionally shop small. Ordering from small businesses as much as possible or going into shops to buy items you can get locally means so much!
Don’t rely on Amazon.
Appreciate that items with an impact, or unique, quality, local items sometimes take longer and are going to be worth the wait. Amazon has a huge, negative impact on local and small business by undercutting costs and overpromising on delivery times that just aren’t realistic for small businesses. Make sure to set your expectations properly when buying.
Give feedback.
Take the time to offer some honest feedback to shops that you love or that you want to do business with. Part of being a small business is learning as you go and we don’t always know what you’re thinking without your honest feedback. I'm always happy to get messages of feedback if you'd like to see a change in product, new product, any recommendations for businesses to feature, etcetera!
Send referrals.
You can change things in a big way for a small business. Refer them to friends, coworkers, anyone who comes to mind when you think about the business itself. Don’t assume that everyone knows about them just because you do!
